Product-specific practices
Notes and page anchors
Sticky Notes² stores note text, titles and tasks, colors, templates, source page titles and URLs, user-selected text used for a note, page anchors and positions, library metadata, product settings, and local license metadata in Chrome extension storage.
Page integration
Sticky Notes² uses a packaged content script on ordinary pages to create notes and restore local notes on matching pages. It reads the current page title and URL, user-selected text, and placement context only as needed for those functions. It does not collect passwords, form entries, cookies, unrelated page content, or a general browsing history, and it does not send note content, page content, selections, source references, or browsing history to the developer.
Exports
Sticky Notes² creates exports locally and only after the user requests them. Exported files remain wherever the user saves or shares them.
Licensing and legal choices
Sticky Notes² stores the Gumroad license key entered by the user together with local license state, cached entitlement, verification timestamps, and verification error state. When the user activates or re-checks a license, Sticky Notes² sends the entered key and its fixed product identifier to Gumroad over HTTPS for entitlement verification. Notes, tasks, selected text, source URLs, page content, and browsing history are not included in that request.
The legal-choice service receives only signed, privacy-minimal evidence of an acceptance, decline, or withdrawal. It does not receive notes, tasks, anchors, selected text, source references, page content, browsing history, or the Gumroad license key.
Packaged code and tracking
Sticky Notes²'s executable code is packaged with the extension. It does not load remote scripts, execute code from a content-delivery network, or download executable code at runtime. Sticky Notes² does not use advertising, cross-context behavioral tracking, or third-party product analytics.
Retention and deletion
The user can delete individual notes. Deactivating a local license removes or disables the local entitlement state but does not delete the user's notes. Clearing applicable extension or Chrome-profile storage or uninstalling the extension removes local extension data. Exports remain wherever the user saved them, and Gumroad and the legal-choice service retain their limited independent records under their respective disclosed retention rules.
External checkout and license verification
Paid access is sold by Uncommon Weather through external Gumroad checkout; Google is not the seller. When a user activates or re-checks a license, Sticky Notes² sends the entered license key and its fixed product identifier to Gumroad over HTTPS. Gumroad returns limited purchase, refund, dispute, subscription, and entitlement information used to determine access. Product content and browsing history are not included in that request, and Uncommon Weather does not receive full payment-card details.
Legal choices and signed evidence
When a user accepts, declines, or later withdraws acceptance to use limited mode, Sticky Notes² records the choice locally and queues a signed, privacy-minimal event for the Uncommon Weather legal-choice service hosted on Supabase. The service receives product and document identifiers, versions and SHA-256 hashes; the choice; broad age band and acceptor role when applicable; pseudonymous installation and request identifiers; app or extension version and build; timestamps, locale, source and sequence; online or offline state; cryptographic proof; and receipt-linkage fields where applicable.
The service does not receive the user’s name, email address, birth date, Gumroad license key, page content, browsing history, or Sticky Notes² product content. A keyed pseudonym is derived from the random installation identifier; the raw installation identifier is not retained in the legal ledger. Security providers may process ordinary connection metadata, such as IP address, route, response status, and timing, to deliver and protect the request.
A local decline or withdrawal takes effect immediately and remains queued until it can be delivered without silently changing the decision time. A user who declined or withdrew remains quietly in limited mode across later document families and can choose to review and accept from settings. An acceptance remains verification-pending, with ordinary product access limited, until a signed server receipt bound to the current product documents is returned and verified. A verified current choice is not repeatedly requested.
Service providers and disclosures
Google provides Chrome, extension installation and updates, and the Chrome Web Store. Gumroad provides checkout and license verification. Supabase hosts the signed legal-choice and receipt service. Cloudflare delivers and protects the public website. Support and network providers process only the information needed for those functions. Information may also be disclosed when required by valid legal process, to protect rights or safety, to investigate abuse or security incidents, or in a business transaction with legally required safeguards.
Uncommon Weather does not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, serve third-party ads, or track users across unrelated products.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
The use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Chrome API data is used only to provide Sticky Notes²’s disclosed single purpose and the user-requested browser features described in this policy. It is not used for advertising, lending, unrelated profiling, or cross-context behavioral tracking.
Retention and deletion
Product data follows the product-specific retention and deletion boundaries stated above. Copies deliberately exported or shared remain wherever the user or recipient saved them. Support correspondence is retained while needed to handle the request and for reasonable operational, security, and legal purposes. Apple, Google, RevenueCat, Gumroad, and other independent platforms retain their records under their own policies and legal duties.
Legal-choice events and acceptance receipts are append-only evidence retained until the verified relationship ends plus seven years. Related challenge, key-registration, request-audit, signing-key incident, receipt-integrity, and retention-purge records follow their security and legal-claims schedules. Immutable legal evidence may be retained where needed to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Security
The legal-choice system uses HTTPS, P-256 signatures, keyed pseudonyms, replay-resistant single-use challenges, strict origin or product allowlists, rate limits, restricted service credentials, append-only evidence, and signed receipts. Sticky Notes²’s executable code is packaged with the extension and does not load or execute remote code. No system is perfectly secure.
Choices and privacy rights
Users can decline, later withdraw to limited mode, review the current documents, or affirmatively accept from Legal & Privacy settings. Available product controls can delete or export product data, manage or restore purchases, leave a share, or deactivate a local license where applicable. Depending on location, rights may include access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, appeal, withdrawal, or a regulator complaint.
Children and eligibility
Sticky Notes² is not directed to children under 13. A parent or legal guardian must accept for a user age 13 through 17. The legal flow records only a broad age band and acceptor role, not a birth date.
Changes and related documents
Material changes receive a new immutable document version. Previously accepted users are asked to make one new choice for a materially changed family; continued use alone does not silently create acceptance. A stored decline or withdrawal remains limited without a recurring prompt. Read the Sticky Notes² Terms of Service and Sticky Notes² Product Schedule.
