Product-specific document. This schedule applies only to HouseHum (com.ryantinklepaugh.househum). It supplements the separate HouseHum Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, each with its own immutable version and SHA-256 hash.
Product purpose
HouseHum lets an adult create an on-device acoustic fingerprint of a household machine and compare later user-initiated checks with that personal baseline for relative spectral drift.
Relative comparison, not calibrated measurement
HouseHum reports dBFS and relative change against the user's own baseline. It is not a calibrated sound-level or vibration instrument, does not report certified dB SPL, and cannot remove differences caused by microphone response, placement, case, room, route, background sound, operating cycle, or capture technique.
Not diagnostics, prediction, or a safety system
A consistent, drifting, or changed result is not a diagnosis, maintenance instruction, failure prediction, warranty determination, or safety clearance. HouseHum can miss a dangerous condition or flag a harmless change. Inspect actual conditions and use a qualified technician when safety, property, or equipment matters.
No background monitoring
HouseHum does not listen continuously or in the background. A reminder only asks the user to return and start a deliberate check. Do not rely on it for floods, fire, gas, electrical hazards, life safety, or urgent equipment alerts.
Free access and HouseHum Pro
The free tier supports the appliance and latest-result limits shown in the app. A three-run qualifying baseline records placement and operating conditions so a later check can be compared to the same machine and protocol. Users can log maintenance and link before- and after-service observations. Pro can add appliances, history, trends, reminders, user-requested fingerprint CSV export, and a non-diagnostic PDF service-evidence report. Apple's purchase sheet controls current plan and lifetime prices, trial eligibility, and renewal terms.
Limited mode
After a decline or withdrawal, the user can review, export, or delete available records, read legal and support information, and manage or restore an Apple purchase. New captures, edits, reminders, purchases, and Pro actions can remain unavailable until the current documents are accepted.
Current product data boundary
The following categories and operational boundaries are specific to HouseHum and form part of this schedule.
- Transient foreground microphone samples and audio-route information
- Stored 27-band spectral fingerprints, relative level and quality measures, three-run baseline identifiers, drift reports, thresholds, and verdict history
- Appliance name, type, location label, notes, placement and operating-state instructions, per-capture protocol snapshots, capture dates, and reminder preferences
- Maintenance event types, dates, summaries, optional service providers, and linked before- and after-service capture identifiers
- User-requested fingerprint CSV and service-evidence PDF exports
- Anonymous App Store purchase and RevenueCat offering, transaction, purchase, and entitlement metadata
- Privacy-minimal legal-choice evidence
Foreground microphone capture and fingerprints
HouseHum listens only during a capture the user starts while the capture screen is in the foreground. Samples are analyzed on the device and discarded. HouseHum stores a 27-band spectral fingerprint and quality metrics; it does not save a playable audio recording or upload audio to Uncommon Weather, RevenueCat, CloudKit, or an artificial-intelligence service.
A route change or interruption can invalidate and discard a capture rather than creating a partial record.
Appliance records on this device
Appliance details, repeatable-capture protocol snapshots, baseline run identifiers, fingerprints, reports, maintenance events and their linked before- and after-service checks, and history are stored on this device. This version does not synchronize those records between devices. Uncommon Weather does not receive or restore that private content.
Local reminders and exports
Re-check reminders are local notifications and do not cause background listening. A fingerprint CSV or non-diagnostic PDF service-evidence report is created only when the user requests it and remains wherever the user saves or shares it. The PDF can include appliance and protocol details, baseline qualification, drift checks, maintenance chronology, optional provider names, and linked observations.
Purchases and legal choices
Apple processes payments. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app-user identifier and limited app, device, offering, transaction, purchase, and entitlement metadata needed to present products, restore purchases, provide aggregate subscription analytics, and determine Pro access. It does not receive appliance details, audio, fingerprints, or reports.
The separate legal-choice service receives only signed, privacy-minimal evidence of an acceptance, decline, or withdrawal and no HouseHum product content.
Retention and deletion
Records created by this version remain on this device until deleted with available controls, Delete All App Data, app removal, or Apple storage changes. An earlier TestFlight build may have left a private iCloud copy; this version does not synchronize or erase such a remote copy. The user can manage any earlier copy through Apple’s iCloud controls. Delete All also cancels pending local reminders. It does not erase a CSV or PDF already saved or shared by the user, Apple or RevenueCat purchase records, provider security records, or privacy-minimal legal-choice evidence.
Legal choices and verification
A decline or withdrawal takes effect locally at once and remains limited without a recurring prompt. A user can review the current documents and affirmatively accept from Legal & Privacy settings. A current affirmative acceptance takes effect after it is durably saved on the device and unlocks main-app access while signed-receipt delivery retries in the background. A non-terminal network, Apple, or service outage does not lock the main app or create another prompt. Widgets, Live Activities, and other extension surfaces that require a verifiable cross-process receipt may wait until the server-signed receipt is received and verified. If the server explicitly rejects the exact saved acceptance as terminal, the client quarantines that failed record and returns to the appropriate decision or limited-state screen. A current choice is not repeatedly requested.
